Of all the HTML guides I’ve seen, John December has the best.  Particularly useful are the "Hex Hub" in his "Color Spot" section and the guides for the latest transitional and strict tags in his "HTML Station".

December’s definitely quirky–see his "Live Simple" ebook, which apparently aspires to be a guide to everything from organizing your home to choosing an ISP to "living your dream"–but it’s the sort of hyper-organized approach to life you’d expect from the guy who put together the superb resources above.

After looking over this site, two thoughts immediately come to mind:
    1. This must be the kind of project you can do if you don’t have a kid.
    2. I’ve known you for a long time, and it turns out you’re a lot weirder than I thought. Who the hell hocks coffee mugs and wall clocks in his spare time?
    And a request:
    3. If you change up the music recommendations, set up an archive for the old ones.

Heh. Thanks for the first post, my friend.
    1) Not only do I not have a kid, in a few weeks I won’t have a job–who knows what the hell will happen then?
    2) The coffee mugs are a goof–but I really like the clock. (I’ll tell you if it’s actually worth $12.) I used to design and hand-paint T-shirts when I was in high school, featuring bands and musicians I liked. I remember several Clash designs, as well as Elvis Costello, Jimmy Cliff, even R.E.M. (which tells you how long ago it was.) It was never a high-volume thing, or a business at all. I made enough for myself, and gave away others to friends. The Cafe Press deal is basically the same thing. Which, I admit, doesn’t make it not weird.
    3) All the music-related posts will be archived under the “Music” category up on the left.
